The Fordham Theatre Program trains artists to develop and sustain their practice through mentored exploration of PERFORMANCE, DESIGN AND PRODUCTION, PLAYWRITING and DIRECTING.

Learn by doing: our experiential curriculum offers twenty studio and four mainstage production opportunities each year. Value artistic freedom: students create and produce the entire studio season of new and established works. Prioritize your process: only a sustained and focused effort reveals the full potential of the final product. Exercise risk: we nurture the impulse to wager ourselves in our creative work. Collaborate to create: our majors launch their training with a year-long class in collaborative techniques. Cultivate diverse aesthetics: classical and experimental work from an array of eras and cultures fills our stages. Merge with the professional world: we co-produce with leading NYC theatre companies on our mainstage.

Who are we seeking? Curious risk-takers motivated by a diverse community of artists. Who do we train? The Fordham Theatre Program graduates skilled, adaptable, and empowered creators who meet and exceed the demands of a dynamic, evolving field.
